Full term...Finally

Why has this pregnancy been so stinkin long? Perhaps it's my whininess this go around, I have been exceptionally whiney. No. That couldn't be it! But, I have finally reached full term. I have two weeks until my due date but am hoping to come early. A fourth of July baby would be cool. Especially since that would mean I'd only have four more days! Let's hope for that!

Wedding Day Childcare

Mary just asked me "What people you married when you got married?" I said I married Dad. She said, "No! You had to marry someone else, because Dad had to stay home with us while you were there."

I can hardly remember life without them too.

This afternoon, in an attempt to keep Will awake until we got home, I gave him a fudgcicle. (Admittedly not the smartest idea to give a melting chocolate mess to a two year old). Clearly my attempt failed.

Train Cake

The kids and I had a lot of fun making Will's cake this year. I made several small cakes that we turned into different landscapes. Each kid helped with one of the cakes then we ran the track around and over all of them. Will loved it.
The train delivered his own piece of cake.

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles aka The perfect 2nd birthday

My baby is two! First order of business, presents. He got more train tracks and another train, and then a big garbage truck with a couple other cars. Despite spending most of his time with his two sisters, he can't get enough of balls, blocks or anything with wheels. He just loves the "boy" things. It sure makes shopping for him easy.
He was in little boy heaven! Thank you, Grandma.
We spent the rest of the morning at a little park carnival. Will would have been happy just swinging ...
- until he saw the train he actually got to ride. He was speechless.
I think he found the other rides satisfactory as well.

Happy Birthday, Baby!!

One More

A thunderstorm is just starting, and the thunder scared Will. He was hiding on the couch under a blanket. I peeked under and he sat up and pointed to the window saying "Ooh! Ooh!" I said it was thunder. He looked out the window defiantly and blew raspberries (his personal show of contempt to anyone who crosses him) at the sky. Matt said he did the same thing yesterday when a rain drop fell on him. Do you feel spurned Mother Nature? You should! You should.

Kid Tidbits

Will has started throwing tantrums when he's upset. He collapses in a pathetic heap of sobs. He has a tantrum spot (right behind the couch next to the kitchen). Last week, Matt was leaving for work, and Will wanted to go. He got so upset, that he collapsed in the entry hall. I picked him up and he pointed to the kitchen. I assumed he decided he wanted to finish breakfast and carried him over there. As soon as we walked by his spot, he climbed out of my arms, and threw himself into his spot with renewed wails. Toddlers are so funny!

I still need to do some investigating, but Joe told us a scary story on Friday. He was at their end of year "field day" and bouncing in a bounce house when it fell onto it's side. Joe hit the ground and four other kids landed on top of him. He said he remembers hitting the ground and then the teachers pulling him out but nothing in between. So evidently he blacked out. That's the second story in a week that I've heard of those bounce houses flipping with kids inside. The other was on the news and injured like 120 people. I'm not sure how many of those my kids are going to be playing in in the future. I'm just glad there were only six kids in there so the injuries weren't worse. And, I'm more than a little bothered by the fact that no one at the school called me. Especially if he did black out. That's something I should know!

I was singing a song as Mary was helping me make breakfast, and she asked why I was singing that song. I told her that it was in my head and that singing makes me happy. I asked her why she sings. She pointed to her stomach and said, "The song's in here and it comes out."
